Skin Routine I Swear By…..

Hi Beauties

I have been asked many times what my skin routine is and I thought I would do a post to share what I do!

I will share the products I use for each section below at the very end of this post!

First point I want to make is you need to drink as much water as you can! Staying hydrated is vital to great skin.

Cleansers:

In the morning I only use water to wash my face and then use a toner on the skin before moisturising, I try not to use too many products on my face that’s why I will only use a cleanser at the end of the day. I take my makeup off using makeup wipes and then use a cleanser that thoroughly removes everything. I then go over my face with a Clarisonic before moisturising my face.

Hydration:

Finding a great moisturiser for your skin type and using this every morning and night is extremely important. Even if you have oily skin like me it is so important to continue to use hydrating moisturisers and your skin will actually produce excess oil if your skin is dehydrated giving you more of an oily look than normal! I tend to use heavier moisturizers at night as it gives my face time to absorb and repair while I sleep.

Oils:

I love using face oils especially around the eyes and lashes as it helps keep this area hydrated and cares for lashes. I tend to use face oils only at night as putting them on in the morning will interfere
with my makeup products, also as I wear fake lashes alot the oils I use help keep my real lashes healthy and growing.

Anti-aging:

As I am going into my thirties I use some anti aging creams in the morning and at night to help with lines and keep my skin supple. If this isn’t an issue for you then keep to the products that your skin needs.

Acne

Occasionally I get the bad break out like everyone, and I only use oneproduct listed below – I have used this product ever since I have had a pimple and it has never disappointed me. I only put it on the area I have a breakout and I try and use it as soon as i notice there might be a blemish there as a preventative treatment. It is fast acting so clears up blemishes within 24/48 hours. It does dry the skin but I just moisturise that area more frequently if that is the case until my skin is clear. I try not to pop pimples as that make it worse and can leave scars! Obviously if this isn’t an issue for you stick to what your skin needs.

Facials:

Lastly depending on your age, skin type, and skin needs getting regular facials is fantastic for your skin to keep it supple, healthy and prevent early aging/ blemishes. Speak to your local skin care professional about what is right for you.

I hope this has been helpful for you, I would love to hear what your favourite products are for the above sections?

I Woke Up Like This

Hello Beauties

One of this year’s makeup trends will be the bare face.

So with that in mind I thought I would show you my ‘no makeup makeup’ look. Natural finish without looking like you have a full face on!

Here is the finished look :

Product list below:

  • Australis Primer the Original
  • Rimmel BB cream Matte
  • Maybelline Super Stay 24 hr concealer
  • Ben Nye Neutral set powder
  • Savvy jumbo bronzer

What are your go to products for a natural face?

It can be at times hard to perfect the natural face as weird as that sounds, getting the right balance of everything is not easy!

Would love to see some of your bare face looks tag me on your Instagram looks @sheloveschaos

Lip Service

Hello Beauties

This  week I am reviewing some lipsticks I have recently purchased!

I love a good lipstick and went through a phase where I wore 50 shades of nude – majority of my lipsticks were nudes and I got bored so I ventured into the brighter and darker shades. Here are my recent purchases and what I think:

1. Maybelline: Shade 655 Daringly Nude matte lipstick:

This you can pretty much pull off any day with any outfit natural yet Matte with a subtle colour! Creamy texture.

2. Essence: Shade – 14 Adorable Matt! lipstick:

This is bright and bold and def isn’t forgiving. So if you make a mistake it is hard to get the colour off if you get too application happy! Beautiful rich colour

3. Revlon: Shade – 255 Enchanting Ravissante matte balm stick:

This nude shade is great however does not stay on long at all. Wouldn’t wear this if I wanted long standing colour. Easy stick application and has a creamy texture.

4. NYX: Shade: Life’s A Beach Liquid suede cream lipstick

This is a bold colour and very bright! Love it because it does stay on and it is very pigmented. Easy stick applicator allows you to control how much product goes on!
5. Maxfactor: Shade:600 Glowing Sepia colour and gloss

I actually haven’t decided if I like or dislike this one. It has two shades one is a Matte brown shade and one is a shiny sepia shade you put on top of the brown. It is quite a bold colour when combined but I do think I prefer just the brown on it’s own. This was the longest lasting out of all the lipsticks reviewed here.

6. Essence: Shade -13 Like a Princess lipstick

I was looking for a shade between red and pink and came across this. Great colour and great wearability very bright. Doesn’t have a lot of staying power but still good for the price.

Which one do you like best? I liked them all except matte lipsticks do dry
the lips out alot!

What is your current lipstick? I would love to see what you guys are wearing!

Until next time

Makeup Trends for 2017

Hello Beauties!

We all know that trends in beauty change so often! Some stick around for years while others disappear within the month!

Let’s look at what the makeup world have for us this year!

  •  Bold and Graphic Eyeshadow

Think 80’s sharp and bright shadow!

  • Bare lashes!

No mascara no lashes (this got me in the heart!) all natural lashes for 2017!

  • Glitter lips

All things sparkle on the lips – pucker up!

  • Bare Glow

Think minimal makeup with natural glow! Get the strobes out everyone!

  • Smudged and smokey

Think rough smokey edges around the eyes and rough eyeliner !

As always the trends will be interesting and I think challenging to pull off at times!!

Which one of those mentioned do you like the most?

I’m going to love the bold eyeshadow I think it will be fun to play around with this one!

Until next time !

January is for …. Joy

Hi Beauties

I’m introducing a new segment to my blog it will be a personal development post each month! This month I wanted to discuss personal joy.

Joy for each person will be different as we all find joy in different things. It could be ‘me time’, being creative, working on your fitness/body, getting away for the weekend etc. they can be as big or small as we like them to be!

I find that in order to actually live a fulfilled life I needed to make time for my ‘joy’ items (There could be more than one). I had to learn to incorporate them into my lifestyle. Depending on what it is I allocated time for it each month or week, sometimes I had to switch things around or remove something else in order to fit it in if I was able to plan ahead, other times if I found I had a cancelled appointment or something I would fill that space up with something that I love to do.

My point is it won’t happen unless you make it happen so plan ahead if you can and if you happen to find out today that you have a spare hour tonight or tomorrow fill it with your joy items!

Doing something we enjoy releases endorphins which reduce our stress levels and improve our moods, we then perform better in other aspects of our life because we have these joy outlets!

Below I have listed awesome ways you can fill your joy time with if you don’t have a specific idea of where to start  :

  • Take a bath
  • Skype a friend over wine or food!
  • Pamper yourself
  • Nap
  • Spend time with family you haven’t seen in awhile
  • Create something
  • Write
  • Attend a dance class
  • See a live show
  • Go for a walk in the most green scenery around you!
  • Surprise someone
  • Spend time with your pet
  • Treat yourself and buy something you have had your eye on!
  • Indulge in a comfort food you adore
  • Tell someone you love how you feel or pay then a
    compliment
  • Learn a new skill
  • Play board games
  • Get lost in a movie
  • Visit a new place
  • Give yourself a makeover
  • Read books you have not had a chance to read

I have heard people say they put other people first so they do not have time for their own personal wants. To that I say by making sure you indulge or relax or enjoy yourself in your own way is as important to you as it is to the ones around you. Our mood improves, we become better people to those around us when we have happy outlets. By giving yourself this time doesn’t mean you are taking away from time from others it means you are looking after your own happiness and mental state in order to be focused, present and positive to those around you – whether that is work, family, friends, neighbours, pets – everyone!

For me it means alone time to do my makeuo, coffee with my fiancé, naps with my cat, baking, watching reality tv shows!

What gives you joy?

Make your time count!

Until next time
