DIY Coffee Face Mask!

At the moment I’m obsessed with face masks so I wanted to do a quick post and share with you one of my favourites!

It’s my go to for firming up your skin and brightening it – just a heads up you will look scary wearing it – it takes some getting used to.

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons of coffee
  • 2 tablespoons of bicarbonate soda
  • Enough coconut oil to form a paste

Mix into a paste and rub onto skin and leave to dry. Wash off with lukewarm water

If you are looking to brighten and tighten your skin then it’s best to treat your skin to this once a week!

This can also be used on the body wherever you may have cellulite.

Do you have any at home masks you love to create?

Four To Try

Happy Monday ( or Sunday depending on where you are!)

It was hard picking just 4 try this week as I have a lot of current favourites!

Sukin Chia Seed Oil

Sukin Chia Seed Oil

This is part of the Super Greens range by this brand and is preservative free and suitable for all skin types.

What I first loved about this product is that it didn’t make your skin oily or feel like you are oiling your face up. My skin quickly absorbed the oil ( and I have oily skin!!)

The second thing I love about this oil is the way my skin has looked and felt after using it! Soft, hydrated and radiant – can’t ask for much more. All natural and pure love this to bits!

I use this at night before I sleep but for anyone with dry skin this would be amazing for you before makeup as well!

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Shade 30

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Shade 30

I bought this shade for winter (winter here in Sydney) and I absolutely fell in love with the shade.

Very pigmented and creamy! Didn’t bleed and was such a perfect red wine colour 👌🏼

Burt’s Bees – Almond Milk Beeswax Handcream

Burt’s Bees – Almond Milk Beeswax Handcream

This has been my favourite handcream for as long as I can remember. It’s thick and super moisturising – the little pot will last a very long time as you really don’t need much of it to do the job!

It has a really nice almondy creamy scent and will not leave you dry – ever! Such a good quality product.

I’ve not only used it on my hands but my elbows and any dry area really!

NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray

NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray

This setting Spray is the real deal.

As I mentioned my oily skin has it’s glorious moments where my forehead can outshine the sun but I gotta say this spray definitely not only set my makeup in place but I didn’t have to touch up at all!

I used it as the very last step however I also want to try spraying a little on my beauty blender when I apply foundation and see how that goes.

Very affordable product that does what it says.
Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts? Comment below!

June is for….. Journaling!!

Anyone that knows me knows I love a good Journal! Whether I’m bulleting or mind mapping there is an endless amount of ideas and uses for journals!

I wanted to share the different ways you can use a journal – it’s not your typical ‘Dear Diary’ outlet. Journaling can be a creative, productive, reflective, artistic, or an organising process! You can make it as ordered or random as you want.

You can have multiple journals for different things – a work journal, a creative journal, a money journal, a writing journal, a wedding journal etc. I love the freedom of journaling!

Some use it just to write, while others fill it with only images, it can be doodles or poetry – the list is endless.

If you aren’t sure where to start I would suggest buying one journal and exploring with layouts, writing, visuals etc until you get a feel for how you like to express yourself this will also give you time to know what you enjoy putting in there.

Here are some ideas for inspo:

  • Gratitude journal
  • Workout planner
  • Quote journal
  • Products you love
  • Goal tracker
  • Favourite recipes
  • Monthly planner
  • Things to make
  • Obsessions
  • Fashion Inspo
  • Decluttering planner
  • Inspiration log
  • Book of lists
  • All things beauty
  • Family memories
  • Mind maps
  • Your week in pictures
  • Birthday log
  • Tracker – food, money, birthdays etc

Still stuck for ideas? If you aren’t a natural writer or just plain not sure what to write here are some prompts to get you started:

What kind of journal do you have? What are other ways to use journals ?!

Four To Try!

Happy new week!

Every Monday I’ll be sharing 4 must try products!

To kick this off here are this week’s 4 To Try:

RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Filler

RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Filler

I’ve been using this Cream for about a year now and only have great things to say about it.

With retinol and hyaluronic acid it plumps up the skin and gets rid of your lines.

I use it as an all over the face cream in the morning and at night – you don’t need a lot of product as the cream is thick and moisturising.

MUA Intense Colour Lip Liner – Red Drama

MUA Intense Colour Lip Liner – Red Drama

This lip liner has become one of my favourites! I use it as a lip colour not just to line the lips and it stays on forever!

If you want a lighter red then one coating of this will be perfect otherwise add more costs for a deeper red. This doesn’t bleed either!

If you are looking for a matte lip liner that you can use as an all over colour then this is the one for you.

Wearing the colour below:

essence Camouflage 2 in 1 Makeup & Concealer

essence Camouflage 2 in 1 Makeup and Concealer

This is my go to when I need coverage but nothing too heavy and still natural.

This is long lasting and covers redness and spots, dark under eyes etc! So affordable and effective.

If you have oily skin this is perfect for you as it won’t shine up your face and it stays put!

A great travel item or when you don’t want to wear a full face. The texture is creamy and light.

NYX Matte Liquid Liner

 NYX Matte Liquid Liner

I’m so glad I found this liner!! This liner comes with a thin brush and at first the liquid is quite shiny but dries quick to a matte finish and doesn’t budge!

Lots of product in here so this will last a lifetime!

The liquid is not too runny so you can easily apply without worrying about dripping or excess product leaking.

Hope you enjoyed this week’s 4!

If you have tried any of these comment below your thoughts on it!

June Review of the Month

This month’s review is my current go to foundation…. NYX Total Control Foundation Drops!

If you love the Marc Jacobs Remarcable foundation then this is the dupe!

What I love about this foundation is you control the level of coverage and it dries to a matte finish. So even on days when you would like to have light coverage you can use the same foundation.

The consistency of the foundation is watery as you can see but it is very pigmented!

The foundation comes in a glass bottle and dropper and you just give it a good shake before applying. It dries quick and I barely need to touch up my face throughout the day which is a big deal for my oily face!

I rate this foundation highly and will def be repurchasing it – also comes in a wide range of shades. I think I will need a summer and winter shade ( you can even mix to match!)

NYX Control Cover Drop Foundation

One thing to note is the bottle is quite small so don’t expect your average tube of foundation – i is on the smaller side but you don’t need a lot of the product to get coverage!

Have you tried this and what were your thoughts??
