Foundation Face-off

Out of all the beauty products I think I love playing with foundation the most. Today I’m going to show you a comparison of two of my current most used foundations at the moment (I will be applying both the same way using a foundation flat kabuki brush) :

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation

MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation

Their claims:

MAC: A tenacious waterproof formula that can be used as a foundation or concealer, wearing for an unprecedented 24 hours. Neither rain nor tears can budge this oil-free watertight product that actually repels moisture from the surface of the face

Tarte: Get 12 hours of flawless coverage with this long-wearing, skin-perfecting formula with. It’s full-coverage and supremely blendable and buildable formula has a weightless texture and is available in a broad range of shades. Everyone can achieve skin that looks healthy and natural.

Consistency:

Both foundations are thick and creamy. Both come in a squeezable tube and product comes out with ease.

Coverage:

I did a quick video to show you the coverage I had already primed my face !

Finish:

Mac has a higher coverage finish than Tarte and more of a flawless finish too!

Tarte you would need to continue putting more layers on for higher coverage

Longevity:

Mac outlasted Tarte on this one. Maybe it was the primer ?! Not sure but I had to touch up when I wore the Tarte more often than Mac! I had a oily t-zone quite soon after the Tarte.

Verdict:

I def prefer the Mac foundation, I heard such great things about Tarte so was surprised it didn’t come through for me!

Which do you prefer ??
