I’ve gone into depth about skincare and the serums I use for my own skincare routine so I wanted to touch base on the food that we consume and how this affects our skin.
One of the best and easiest ways to maintain great skin is to have a healthy diet. This will ensure your skin not only looks it’s best but can repair and heal itself quicker if you breakout or get sunburnt etc. It also means that cells are renewed quicker, that your skin elasticity and plumpness is at it’s prime and you have a natural luminous shine.
With this in mind here are some skin loving foods to eat to give you the best skin possible:
Think fish (salmon), avocados and nuts. These have omega 3 fats and plenty of vitamins that helps fight UV rays and gives your skin repairative nutrients. So these will help you reduce lines, feed your skin nutrients which maintain plumpness and vitality.
Think blackcurrants, blueberries, broccoli, guava, kiwi fruits, oranges, papaya, strawberries and sweet potatoes. Vitamin C is a natural collagen producer and keeps your skin radiant and immunity strong!
This might be an obvious one but people still forget go drink enough water! I know on days I don’t drink enough my skin because extra oily and tired looking. Dehydrating your skin can make it age quicker so stay on top of your thirst levels.
Both an anti- inflammatory and an antioxidant green tea is skin’s best friend. Drink as many cups as you can (along with water of course) – this will help protect against free radicals, gaining and inflammation.
Chocolate containing over 80% cocoa is full of a very potent antioxidant and also amazing for skin firming. Be sure to consume dark chocolate with as little amount of sugar in it as possible and sugar is terrible for the skin.
With the above in mind try and incorporate these into your upcoming week or weekend! Stick to it and see the results. Give skin love and it will give it right back.
